This two-year Master’s degree program is taught in English and is devoted to the study of micro- and nano-scale phenomena, materials and devices. It gives students solid foundation in three core areas: nanomaterial fabrication and characterization; physical properties; and devices. The students will also understand the potential for the technology commercialization and its social impact.

Admission

To be admitted as a regular graduate student to a two-year Master’s program at MISiS, an applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

Applicant must follow the general procedure outlined on our web-site. The deadline to submit application for Fall 2017 is July 20, 2017. However, international students are strongly encouraged to apply by May 10, 2017.

Admission is open to both Russian and international students and it includes a short individual online interview with professor Larisa Panina (head of the program). Please see the Entrance Examination Content (86.5 КБ)

Degree Requirements

To graduate from the program, you must successfully complete 120 credit hours, including 74 credits from required and elective courses, 16 credits from research work, and 30 credits from the final examination and the thesis defense. Students will be enrolled for 30 credits per term.

Upon completion of the degree requirements, the graduate will receive a Russian State Diploma and a European Diploma Supplement.
