The English-language Master’s degree program UX/UI Design educates professional UX/UI designers capable of creating intuitive, aesthetically appealing, and functional digital products tailored to the needs of users. The training is based on an international Studio-based learning model that combines scientific research, creative practice, and interaction with industry into a single, continuous educational trajectory. The program combines user experience analysis, interaction design, interface design, typography, design systems, usability assessment, product thinking, and academic research integrated into each practical project. After graduation, young professionals work in the field of digital interface design for devices, video broadcasting, animation, and other areas.
The program provides a multidisciplinary approach, blending creativity with technical skills to develop professional UX/UI designers capable of crafting intuitive and innovative digital solutions.
The UX/UI Design program is based on one continuous project that each student selects at the beginning of their studies. In contrast to the traditional approach, where students start a new project every semester, here each stage builds on the results of the previous one. This approach is consistent with the international Studio-based learning model used by leading design schools worldwide. Students work on a variety of practical projects, including designing user interfaces for websites, mobile apps, and specialized devices. They analyze user behavior and identify their needs in order to develop a data-driven design strategy. Each student receives detailed feedback from their mentors through learning in small groups.
Evidence-based approach to UX/UI design
The education is based on the idea that every design decision is made using modern scientific methods, such as user experience research, user behavior analysis, perceptual psychophysiology, cognitive psychology, emotional design, information architecture, usability testing, accessibility, and cross-cultural user experience. This approach reflects current trends in UX/UI, where successful digital products are created using research and hypothesis testing rather than just the intuition of designers.
Research as part of the design
The research component is integrated into each discipline of the program, rather than being a separate module. From the first semester, students get acquainted with the methodology of design and research work. They then consistently study information architecture, cultural aspects of designing user scenarios, ethics and accessibility in design, analytics, and data-driven design. Ongoing projects form the basis of a professional portfolio.
International opportunities
UX/UI design is a sought-after profession worldwide. The program reflects an international approach from the very first semester of study, as students actively participate in global educational projects and attend guest lectures. They also take part in workshops and research projects with the participation of international experts. The program creates a multicultural academic environment where students learn to navigate diverse professional settings. The curriculum includes internships and real-world projects that prepare students for careers in global markets. Graduates can solve complex tasks in UX/UI design with a comprehensive skill set, which includes user research, information architecture, and design systems.
Global and cross-cultural UX
Students learn to design digital products for users from different countries and cultural contexts. They explore interface localization, cultural subtleties, international accessibility, and global UX practices.
Advanced tools
Students work with a modern professional stack of tools for interface design, interactive prototyping, design systems, and collaborative digital product development. Depending on the project, Figma, Sketch, Lunacy, Krita, Inkscape, and other specialized tools are used.
A comprehensive study of typography
One of the key features of the program is an in-depth study of typography. Students study the development of fonts and their integration into various aspects of design, including branding and universal design concepts. They also learn how to develop accidental and original typefaces, which allows them to create unique brand identities.
Networking and extracurricular activities
The program encourages students to engage in extracurricular activities that foster both professional and academic growth. The IT at MISIS (ITAM) platform connects MISIS University students with innovative projects, key IT events, and industry career opportunities. Next to the classrooms and educational laboratories, there are coworking and recreational areas, equipped for comfortable work of university students on joint projects. Students can participate in hackathons and competitions on UX/UI design, international workshops, as well as contribute to scientific publications and conferences.

courses in the field of design including introduction to UX/UI design, design systems and branding, front-end development for designers, fonts and lettering fundamentals.
Research Infrastructure
Research work accompanies learning at all stages of the program. Students conduct UX research, analyze user data, test design hypotheses, and use research results to design digital products. Students not only create digital products, but also learn to justify their decisions, publish research results, and present them at professional events. They conduct research together with industrial partners using VR equipment, specialized graphics stations, and 3D prototyping devices provided by the Department of Computer-Aided Design and Engineering at NUST MISIS.
