NUST MISIS Enters THE World University Rankings by Subject

NUST MISIS has entered the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subject: engineering and technology, entering the group of 401-500. This is the 6th subject ranking NUST MISIS has entered in 2017.

“The entry of NUST MISIS into THE World University Rankings by subject: engineering and technology is extremely significant to increase the University`s visibility on the international level, as well as to prove the progress that the University has reached in the process of its transition from a national university to an international one with competitive advantages”, said Professor Dr. Wolfgang Bleck, member of NUST MISIS International Scientific Advisory Council (RWTH Aachen University, Germany).

NUST MISIS showed the best result in the International Outlook category, which assesses such indicators as the ratio of international to Russian staff and students, as well as the ratio of science articles published jointly with representatives of international universities.

Also, NUST MISIS showed promising results in the Research and Industry Income categories.

“NUST MISIS has already proved itself in the field of innovations — transforming its research results into new products and processes. Research conducted by the University with its industrial partners, such as RUSAL, are world-class projects and also influence NUST MISIS’s positions in international rankings”, — noted Bleck.

In 2017, for the first time, NUST MISIS entered the QS and ARWU Rankings by subject, being featured in 5 subjects, and taking 31st place in the Engineering-Mineral & Mining subject, as well as entering the TOP-100 in the Metallurgy category. Also, in 2017, NUST MISIS strengthened its positions in leading international academic rankings, entering the group of 601+ in THE World University Rankings and the group of 501-550 in the QS WORLD University Rankings.
