NUST MISIS on the rise in the Webometrics

NUST MISIS continues to strengthen its position in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, rising by 131 positions this year. The university now occupies 1962nd place among the 25,000 educational institutions listed.

Experts from the Competitiveness Enhancement Project of the Leading Russian Universities among the Global Research and Education Centers have noted that NUST MISIS is one of only four Russian universities (along with Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal University, and Samara State Aerospace University) that can be categorized as having “a major breakthrough” in the rankings this year.

NUST MISIS has consistently shown a high rate of improvement in international academic rankings. The university witnessed the most considerable improvement rate in the QS University Rankings: BRICS 2015 despite increasing competition, and has also made significant breakthroughs by both entering THE World University Rankings 2015-2016 and by strengthening its position in the QS World University Rankings.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is published twice a year: at the end of January and at the end of July. The rankings represent about 12,000 universities, but actually rank around 25,00 educational institutions.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is generated from 4 Indicators: Presence (the global volume of content published on the university’s web domains [as indexed by Google]); Excellence (the number of academic papers published in high impact journals); Impact (all the external inlinks received from third parties); and Openness (the number of rich files [pdf, doc, docx, ppt] published in dedicated websites according to Google Scholar).
