NUST MISIS Holds All-Russian Physical-Technical Test “Go Out to Solve!”

600 people became participants of the first all-Russian physical-technical test at all of NUST MISIS’s platforms, including its branches in Stary Oskol, Vyksa, Novotroitsk, and Dushanbe.

Anyone could test his or her knowledge in the field of engineering sciences for free. Participants were presented 15 tasks in 3 different subjects—math, physics, & IT—and left to his or her wits to try and solve them. The level of the tasks were roughly in-line with about a 9th-grade difficulty. However, there were quite complex problems as well, including some that required an ingenuity and base of knowledge not typically included in a standard school program.

“The main feature of modern life is the high rate of technological changes. The ability to efficiently accept the new, and to use and create it is determined by the quality of a person’s fundamental education, the invariant part of which is received at school. With the help of our ’experimental’ test ‘Go Out to Solve!’ we want to attract people`s attention to the quality of training in math and physics; training in the sciences—the quality of which one’s studies depends—will mark our future success”, noted Vadim Petrov, Vice-Rector of Educational Affairs at NUST MISIS.

Overall almost 35,000 people participated in the test “Go Out to Solve!”. Not only Russians, but also compatriots from Austria, China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and the UK took part in the test. The event was held at 81 platforms of the largest Russian universities, as well as schools and lyceums.
