RUSAL — one of the world`s largest producers of aluminum, together with NUST MISIS — a leading technological university in Russia, are launching a College of Lightweight Materials & Technologies, a new institution designed within university standards.
An international group of researchers from Russia, Greece and Kazakhstan made an important discovery for enhancing the effectiveness of lasers, including those used in medicine. The results of their project have been published by Scientific Reports (part of the Nature publishing group).
NUST MISIS Scientists Receive the Russian Federation’s Government Award in the Field of Science and Technology
A group of scientists from the NUST MISIS R&D Center of Acousto-optic have received the Russian Federation’s Government Award for young scientists in the field of science and technology for 2016.
A group of NUST MISIS scientists led by Professor Alexander Mukasyan has produced a unique accelerator by developing self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). The accelerator doesn’t degrade and doesn’t get polluted during the working process, and this is the reason why it operates ten times longer than ordinary accelerators. It has been working intensively for several years, hence why it is jokingly called “eternal”. Accelerators are used to obtain nanomaterials, as well as for the after combustion process in vehicles. Additionally, they reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
