  • Physical and chemical fundamentals of plasma electrolysis (electrochemistry of plasma electrolysis; physics of plasma discharge with fluid electrodes; pulsed plasma techniques; process diagnostics, control and modelling)
  • Composition-structure-property relationships in surface engineered materials (surface structures and phase transformations; internal stresses; mechanical properties and adhesion; functional properties; tribological performance; corrosion behaviour; evaluation of functional performances)
  • Process development (PEO of Al, Ti, Mg, Zr and Nb; non-oxidising, diffusion and duplex treatments of metals)
