Innovative Materials for Nanoelectronics

The program aims to teach the technologies of new material application in nanoelectronics. Students are provided access to NUST MISIS laboratories and research centers, where they independently or under the guidance of leading scientists work on projects implemented for the university business partners. The obtained knowledge and skills in materials science — composition, structure and technologies to obtain new materials and products, — secure their employment at scientific production sites and leading R&D centers.

Physical Materials Science

The program aims to train specialists in the science of material structures and properties, including functional materials with unique magneto-soft and magneto-hard properties, and magnetic nanomaterials for biomedicine. Student get hands-on experience in production and processing technologies, and participate in experiments to implement structural research to study unique properties. Each graduation work is an independent research within the framework of real-life projects that are carried out by our Department of Physical Materials Science and its affiliated R&D labs and centers.

Physics and Chemistry of Processes and Materials

Students study processes of obtaining perspective materials with outstanding properties such as nanomaterials, superhard and high-temperature materials, adamants and ceramics, composites, and new types of metal alloys. Our graduates possess a creative approach to solving any R&D tasks in materials science. Their knowledge and skills is a foundation of their successful careers at scientific and industrial establishments or future studies at most prestigious universities in Russia and abroad.

Metal Science and Heat Treatment

The program combines the vast experience of classical metal science with the cutting edge achievements in metal physics. Students study the strength theory, laws of construction material behavior, patterns of metal and alloy structure formation. They acquire practical skills and knowledge to solve a wide array of tasks in material application including that in nuclear, oil and gas and engineering industries. Our students verify the laws of metal/alloy structure, and property formation/change at the advanced scientific laboratories of the university. The subject of student research work may embrace both metals, alloys and modern composite, nano- and other types of materials.
