Metallurgy

Modern metallurgy is a science about obtaining and improving multi-purpose metals and alloys, combining several areas of learning. A student who understands the fundamental link between material structure/composition and its operational characteristics will acquire static, systemic and risk oriented way of thinking. A metallurgist is a researcher with a vast contribution in innovations and technological development of industry and economy.

Pathway

Mineral Raw Material Technology

Mining and conversion of non-ferrous, rare, noble and ferrous metals, coal and non-metallic minerals are the main economic branches in many countries, including Russia, that are the basis of production activity in modern society. The program aims at training specialists who can implement the existing solutions and find and propose new ideas in the field of mineral raw material of natural and technogenic origin processing. Graduates are able to organize and conduct scientific research on mineral raw material processing, analyze the research and project solutions results which make them successfully work in industrial corporations, international companies representative offices, research institutions and engineering centers.

Geometallurgy

The specialized higher education program in Geometallurgy aims at producing specialists in the fields of mineral raw material quality control and optimizing production chains that can enhance the efficiency of metals and the mining sector. Cost reduction and production optimization can be achieved by the use of advanced technologies and innovative approaches. During the education process we offer the use of data processing and predictive parsing advanced methods that guarantee the highest quality planning and control processes of mining and mineral raw material processing. The program graduates have all the skills for building a successful career and becoming experts in the mining and metallurgical industry.
