Student exchange programs

This non-degree mobility program is intended for to international students from our Partner Universities who are ready to spend 1 or 2 semesters abroad as exchange students in the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements.

Student exchange program participants choose 1 academic program in English or in Russian at NUST MISIS to attend lectures, seminars and practical training from the curricula provided for the exchange period.

Student exchange programs are open for both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the postgraduate students who wish to attend lectures and seminars.

At the end of the exchange period students will receive an Academic Transcript.

Exchange format
  • 1 academic year within “double diploma” programs (2 consecutive semesters, maximum 10 months starting from September only)
  • 1 semester studying on Master’s program (minimum 4 months)
  • 1 research semester
  • 1 “mixed” semester: study & research (minimum 4 months)
  • Winter and summer schools
Academic calendar

Autumn semester: October — January

Spring semester: February — June

Application deadline for admission

The deadline for the application submission for the spring semester is November 15, 2021.

The deadline for the application submission for the fall semester is May 15, 2022.

The deadline for the application submission for full academic year is May 15, 2022.

Please note that students can be accepted for a full academic year exchange starting from September only. Students who come to NUST MISIS in February can be accepted for 1 semester maximum.

Provisions

Depending on the provisions of the cooperation agreement between NUST MISIS and the exchange student’s Home University, Student exchange program participants could be provided with a number of the benefits at MISIS:

  • Tuition fee waiver
  • Subsidized accommodation at one of the residence halls

Applicants should consult with their home university International Office or Student Exchange Coordinator regarding the above mentioned possibilities.

Application Procedure

Students participating in this exchange program should be selected by their Home University providing the official nomination with their application packages (see below) to NUST “MISIS” International Affairs office via email — incoming.mobility@misis.ru

At the present time we DO NOT require original application documents to be mailed by post.

Required Application Documents

Nomination letter — signed and stamped by the Applicant’s Home University Exchange Coordinator;

Application form;

CV with a photo;

Motivational letter;

Academic transcript of grades in English;

Language certificate;

The student program of study at the Home University;

VISA support form

As soon as the participant’s candidacy is approved, the coordinator of the Home University will receive the letter of acceptance to be further sent to the International Affairs office of NUST MISIS.

Required language skills

English: B2 (to attend academic program in English )

Russian: B2 (to attend academic program in Russian)

Visa information

NUST MISIS will file a visa application form to the Federal Migration Service, which will issue your Visa Invitation Letter within 30 working days. NUST MISIS will then send this Letter of Invitation to your address within 10 days after the approval. After receiving this document, you should schedule an appointment at the Russian Embassy/Consulate in your home country for an interview and your visa will then be issued in due time.

Housing

NUST MISIS residence halls are conveniently located just a few metro stops from the main building. The university provides assistance for all international student’ housing. Please see more information here

Health insurance

Exchange students are required to obtain medical insurance according to Russian standards. The International Affairs Office at NUST MISIS can provide local medical insurance with English-speaking doctors.
