Atomic force field prediction using machine learning; A workshop on linear regression with programming implementation (In Python) on a real dataset.
This workshop is very important to all the students who are interested in machine learning and big data analytics. First, the presentation will cover an important issue in material science specifically atomic force field prediction. The audience will learn some basics of atomic force field prediction and how machine learning can be used to predict the forces that are working on atoms. Second, the presentation will give a detailed introduction to the simple linear regression model (both mathematics and programming).
The students will understand all the questions related to Linear Regression (What is Linear regression?; Why Linear Regression?; How to use Linear Regression?). Further, we will use a real data set available online and write a Python code to analyze that data using Linear Regression Model. The workshop will end with a clarification of questions and doubts of the audience.
