Abstract: The goal of the seminar is the demonstration of the relatively simple design of experiment method. Specifically, simultaneous probabilistic and deterministic approach (SPADA) for the design of the ceramics by combustion synthesis will be presented as an effective optimization approach for the synthesis of the material with desired properties. The compressive strength was selected as the parameter of interest, while the composition of the initial mixture and processing time, in total 5 factors, were used as the variables on four different levels. It will be shown that under formulated conditions only 16 experiments are required in order to find an optimum set of factors for the fabrication of the material with the highest mechanical property.
