Speeches:

1100-1140 “The synchrotron-neutron facilities of ‘Kurchatov Institute’ Research Center”, speaker: Roman A. Senin, Ph.D., deputy head of the Complex for the development of research infrastructure. The report will provide a review of studies using beams of high-energy photons from 100 eV to 30 keV (photon studies are carried out at the stations of a synchrotron source — an electron accelerator with an energy of 2.5 GeV) and the capabilities of experimental KISI stations and available measurement methods are shown. examples of studies, as well as the procedure for access of external users to work on the experimental equipment of the Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”.

1140-1200 “Neutron studies of metals and alloys”, speaker: Alexander V. Belushkin, Dr.Sc., Deputy Head of the Complex for Scientific Work. The report will discuss the possibility of using neutrons to study phase separation, phase transitions, corrosion and the position of hydrogen in metals and alloys.

1200-1220 “Neutron research at the IR-8 reactor at the Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”. Speaker: Vyacheslav T. Em, Dr.Sc., Head of Department. The report will provide an overview of the capabilities of experimental stations on the horizontal channels of the IR-8 research reactor, the available measurement methods, and examples of research.

1220-1400 Round table discussion. Answers to questions of interest to listeners are expected, in particular, about possible experiments using synchrotron radiation, neutrons and possible training in experimental methods for undergraduate and graduate students.
