Lecture “Soft introduction to Artificial Neural Networks: Are Machines gonna conquer the world?” by Nico Serra, a leading specialist from CERN

en

Professor at the University of Zurich will discuss the basis of artificial neural networks and explain how they work. Не also shortly discuss some of the architectures that are most popular today and that will probably have a large impact in the future.

We will also summarize the results of the educational program “‘New Technologies to Search for New Phenomena in Particle Physics’” and announce a new one.

10: 30 — Summary of the educational program by CERN and NUST MISIS and announcement of the Fall term 2020

11: 00 — The lecture by Niko Serra.

The event will be held on the Zoom platform with a live broadcast on YouTube.

It is evident that Artificial Intelligence is changing our world, our way to work, drive and interact with people and machines. This change is accelerating and we can assume AI will be more and more pervasive in the years to come.

Most of the algorithms behind this technology are based on (deep) neural networks.

I will discuss the basis of artificial neural networks and explain how they work.

I will also shortly discuss some of the architectures that are most popular today and that will probably have a large impact in the future.
