NUST MISIS teachers, students, postgraduates and young scientists are invited to take part in the International Youth Forum “Russia-Africa: Nuclear Education — Potential for Successful Regional Development” (hereinafter — the Forum). The Forum will be held on February 28, 2025 at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba with the support of Rosatom State Corporation and participation of ROSATOM partner universities.
The Forum has been held since 2020 and is aimed at popularization and promotion of Russian nuclear education in the partner countries of Rosatom, as well as at increasing interest and trust in nuclear technologies as an integral part of creating a sustainable future, and developing the national economy of each country.
Traditionally, the Forum welcomes representatives of international organizations, African diplomatic missions in the Russian Federation, state authorities, as well as academic community, business and non-governmental institutions of Russia and Africa.
The Forum program includes the Plenary Session (working languages are Russian, English, French), sections on Energy and Non-Energy Application of Nuclear Technologies, including “Nuclear Reactors”, “Radiation Safety”, “Agrotechnologies”, “Ecology”, “Nuclear Medicine”, “Geology and Mining”, “Industrial Partnership” (working language of the sections is English), as well as the sections “Youth and Public Movements and Organizations” and “Graduates’ contribution to the development of the region” (working language of the sections is Russian).
The sections will be moderated by relevant experts — representatives of the leading ROSATOM partner universities, such as University of Science an Technology MISIS, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba; young scientists, PhD students and representatives of the business industry and the academic community will participate as speakers in the sections.
The materials of the Forum will be published in a collection of articles in English, indexed by Russian Science Citation Index.
