We invite international students to take part in the All-Russian competition for international students StudRussia, which aims to support talented young people with significant achievements in science, arts, sports, community engagement and volunteering.
Organizers: MISIS University, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The competition is designed to create opportunities for the professional and creative self-realization of international students, to develop their leadership skills and to showcase their achievements in various areas. It is held in two languages — Russian and English — so that each participant can comfortably present their accomplishments in the language they are more confident in.
Competition categories:
- The Best International Student (Grand Prix);
- Science Trailblazer — for students engaged in research and participating in academic and scientific events;
- Generation Leader — for active students contributing to the development of youth policy;
- Summit Seekers — for athletes who have achieved success in competitions;
- Global Compassion — for volunteers involved in charitable projects;
- Creative Spirit — for students pursuing creative activities;
- Russian Language & Culture — for students promoting the Russian language and Russian culture;
- Voice of a Generation — for achievements in media.
Who can participate: international students enrolled at Russian universities, aged 18 to 30, who are studying in undergraduate programs (from the 2nd year), specialized programs, master’s programs, postgraduate or residency programs.
Applications are accepted until September 20, 2026 on the official competition website. To participate, students must fill out an application form, submit a portfolio of achievements and write a motivation letter.
Competition stages:
- preliminary stage (until September 30): application submission and materials evaluation;
- regional stage (until October 31): in-person forums in federal districts at co-organizing universities;
- national stage (until December 10): competition final at MISIS University with an official awards ceremony.
Winners will receive diplomas, prizes, and the opportunity to showcase their achievements at the national level.
The competition’s highest award is the Best International Student Grand Prix, presented to participants who achieve outstanding results across several categories or demonstrate exceptional performance during the in-person stages of the competition.
The preliminary and regional stages are held at co-organizing universities: Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov, North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU), Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU), Siberian Federal University (SFU), Ural Federal University (UrFU).
