Alevtina Anatolyevna Chernikova is a Doctor of Economics, Professor.

In 1988, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Voronezh State University with a degree in Industrial Planning. She began her career at the Scientific-Research Institute of the Problems of Kursk Magnetic Anomaly named after L. D. Shevyakov.

From 1993 to 2003, she worked as the Chief Accountant and Financial Director at Systemservis LLC, which specialized in the development and implementation of automated systems for managing technological processes.

From 1997 to 2012, Alevtina Chernikova rose from Senior Lecturer to Professor at the Department of Economics and Management at the Stary Oskol Technological Institute (STI MISIS, branch of NUST MISIS).

In 2002, she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences.

From 2004 to 2007, she served as Deputy Director of STI MISIS for Financial and Economic Affairs.

In 2005, Alevtina Chernikova was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

From 2008 to 2012, she was the Director of STI MISIS.

In 2008, she defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Economics.

In 2010, Alevtina Chernikova was awarded the academic title of Professor.

In 2012, she became the First Vice-Rector of NUST MISIS and the Acting Rector of the University.

Since 2013, Alevtina Chernikova has served as the Rector of NUST MISIS.

Under A.A. Chernikova’s leadership, in 2014, NUST MISIS was ranked among the best universities in the world by QS World University Rankings, and in 2015, by THE World University Rankings. In 2017, the university became a participant in international subject rankings by THE, QS, and ARWU. Today NUST MISIS holds leading positions in subject and industry rankings across 22 fields.

On April 13, 2023, Alevtina Chernikova was included in the Russian Presidential Council for Science and Education.
