NUST MISIS has climbed to 13th place for the International student ratio indicator among all universities in the ranking, and is 4th among Russian universities. In 2015, the university was 19th.

According to QS EECA, NUST MISIS has strengthened its position among Russian universities in the Academic reputation indicator, which is the ranking’s main category. Last year NUST MISIS was 36th, and now the university is slotted in 23rd place.

“In 2016, NUST MISIS has entered the pack of leaders among universities participating in Project 5-100. According to experts of the Project 5-100 International Council our university is developing dynamically, especially in terms of research activities.
The QS EECA Ranking’s latest results, where NUST MISIS has shown the best dynamic of development among Russian universities by rising 12 positions, prove a great appreciation for world leading experts. In 2016, we are planning to follow our strategy for the development and modernization of the university, the results of which are already visible on the global level”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.

NUST MISIS has also entered the QS EECA top-100 on such indicators as Employer reputation (68th), Faculty/student ratio (57th), Staff with PhD (61st), Publication activity (44th), and International faculty ratio (58th).

“This is a fantastic result and while of course there is still a long way to go, this shows that we are on the right track. This international ranking is viewed globally as a very important source on quality and other criteria for universities, and it will help NUST MISIS’s visibility. Therefore, these rankings will help attract high-level students and new collaborators, while also establishing access to more viable sources of finance, so in many ways this is going to be an important step forward for NUST MISIS”, said Professor Jan van Ruitenbeek, Member of NUST MISIS Scientific Advisory Council (Leiden University, Netherlands).

This is the 3rd year that the QS EECA Ranking has been published. It gives students detailed information about universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Publications per faculty, Employees with a PhD, and Web impact are the main indicators in the ranking.
