From October 16th to 19th, 2018, NUST MISIS hosted the 10th annual meeting of the NUST MISIS International Scientific Advisory Council (ISAC), which includes leading scientists from 8 countries representing prestigious universities like Cambridge, Stanford, Technion, and the University of Iowa, among others. Questions on how to improve existing academic programs and develop new programs were the main topics of this year’s meeting.
NUST MISIS and Vnesheconombank (VEB) will launch a Center of Competencies for New Materials and Breakthrough Technologies with a primary focus on blockchain, convergent (NBICS), and quantum technologies. The accumulation of knowledge about innovative technologies, the development of platforms for use in government organizations, and the training and popularization of those fields will be the Center`s main goals. This is the world`s first center with a combination of such competencies, and the main consumer of its services will likely be Russian state-owned companies and authorities.
On March 17th, 2017, NUST MISIS presented the strategy of the University`s development at the meeting of The Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities among Global Research and Education Centers. The strategy’s 2016 results, presented by NUST MISIS, received high praise from the Council`s experts.
“Virtual Polygon”, the international project designed to create virtual resources capable of testing unmanned vehicle techniques, has been initiated on the foundation of NUST MISIS’s Robotics Center and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The project has involved such leading Russian universities as NUST MISIS, MIPT, and Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ). “Virtual Polygon” is led by Cognitive Technologies.
From 1st to 4th March, 2016, NUST MISIS hosted the Fifth Meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Council. The Council meeting involved the participation of some of the world`s leading scientists, hailing from Cambridge, Stanford, Technion and other world-class centers for research and education.
