An international team of scientists, including NUST MISIS’s Professor Gotthard Seifert, have made an important step towards the control of excitonic (lat. excito — “excite”) effects in two-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures. In the future, this research will help to create electronics with more controlled properties. The research has been published in Nature Physics.

An international team of scientists led by NUST MISIS and TU Dresden Professor Gotthard Seifert, one of the leading specialists in the field of two-dimensional materials, has solved a problem that has for almost half a century prevented the use of two-dimensional materials in microelectronics.
