Over 400 NUST MISIS Students Completed Training to Obtain Huawei Certification

Over 400 students from the NUST MISIS College of Information Technologies and Computer Sciences have completed their training to Huawei certification in Storage System, Datacom, Routing and Switching.

Certification is free of charge for university students. After completing the training three of the students got job offers from Huawei.

NUST MISIS has been cooperating with Huawei since 2015, when the joint ICT Huawei and NUST MISIS Academy was established. Today, the Academy is in the top 10 among the 600 partner universities of the company from all over the world. A number of the company’s vendor courses have been successfully integrated in to the curriculum and are now a mandatory part for NUST MISIS Master’s students of IT areas with an exam in the form of professional certification. The NUST MISIS team was the only Russian university team to receive the first prize in Huawei ICT Competition 2019-2020.

Since 2018, NUST MISIS students have had access to Huawei certifications. The specialist certifications system includes three types certifications, sales (HCSA), pre-sales (HCPA/HCPP), and post-sales (HCS-Field). In 2021, a total of 60 students got their certificates in the following areas: Storage System, Datacom, Routing and Switching. Three of the best students were invited to work for Huawei.

Elizaveta Litvinenko, year 4 Bachelor student at the College of Information Technologies and Computer Sciences:

“I didn’t participate just to get a certificate, I came here for knowledge. I got my certificate in Storage. I think I have achieved my goal, I now know a thing or two about data storage. The certificate is a nice bonus, it looks good on my CV. My participation was free, so it was worth trying my hand.

I have been working for Huawei for 3 months so far. I am a Field Service Engineer, but the company doesn’t limit me to just one role. If I wanted, I could try myself in ticket processing, customer service, networking and much more. My responsibilities as a Field Service Engineer include visiting the customer’s site for setting up or repairing equipment, testing or monitoring data. I am also getting ready to get my HCIP certification. I’m really loving my job so far. Getting the job wasn’t easy, but the colleagues are very friendly and always ready to offer a helping hand. The atmosphere is just very friendly and nice”
