NUST MISIS Becomes a Founder of The Mining Journal

NUST MISIS has become one of the founders of “The Mining Journal” (Gornyi Zhurnal), the industry`s leading media.

Now, the University is a founding member of all four journals of ore mining & metallurgical areas issued by the “Ore & Metals” Publishing house: other than “The Mining Journal” (Gornyi Zhurnal), the publications are the “Mineral Processing” (Obogashchenie Rud), “Non-Ferrous Metals” (Tsvetnye Metally), and “Ferrous Metals” (Chernye Metally) journals.

Normally in “The Mining Journal”, ways of developing the mining industry are discussed: issues of raw material supply, equipment & technology, organization, and the industrial life of ore mining production are examined. Attention is often drawn to urgent problems of environmental protection and industrial safety, as well as to the training of engineering personnel. Leading scientists, heads and specialists of ore mining & metallurgical enterprises from both Russia and abroad, are present in the journal`s pages.

Articles published in the journal are subject to peer review by relevant specialists, including employees of the NUST MISIS College of Mining. Authoritative representatives of science in the field of mining — 5 academicians and 4 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctors and Candidates of Sciences, as well as international specialists from the UK, Sweden, Canada, and Bulgaria, are among the journal’s editorial board.

For many years, “The Mining Journal” has been the primary press organ of the Intergovernmental Council of CIS Countries for the Exploration, Use, and Conservation of Mineral Resources.

Since 2013, “The Mining Journal” has been included in Scopus, the international bibliographic and reviewing database that serves as a tool for tracking article citations. The volume of publications in this database is recognized as part of the criteria for evaluating the performance of universities by the Russian Ministry of Education & Science.
