NUST MISIS Presents First Online Course on Coursera Platform

NUST MISIS and Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) with the support of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have developed an online English-taught course “Smart materials: Microscale and Macroscale Approaches”. Designed for the joint interdisciplinary Master’s program in Materials Science and Smart Materials Technology, it is accessible to everyone and will be useful to those interested in modern materials science.
The program of the “Smart materials: Microscale and Macroscale Approaches” course is designed for a general audience who wants to learn more about the contribution of smart materials to the development of both existing and new technologies in biotechnology and medicine.
Smart materials are a global trend today, both in basic science and in new technologies. Smart materials science is an interdisciplinary field at the intersection of physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, mathematical modeling, nanotechnology, biotechnology, etc. A wide variety of materials are considered “smart”: from shape memory alloys to polymer nanosystems.
The English-taught online course “Smart materials: Microscale and Macroscale Approaches” is devoted to the key concepts, classification and research methods of “smart” materials in the format of short videos, not exceeding 10-15 minutes. Listeners will learn about current aspects and trends in the production, modification, description and application of smart materials.
Course authors: Fedor Senatov, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, NUST MISIS, and Artem Bezrukov, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry, KNRTU.
You can register for the course for free at Coursera.
The online English-taught courses, created by the university’s leading academics and professors, are hosted on the world’s leading educational platforms — edX and Coursera. More than 40 courses have been developed specifically for the National Platform for Open Education, one of the founders of which is NUST MISIS.
