The Department of Powder Metallurgy and Functional Coatings has a rich history and trains specialists in advanced composite materials, multifunctional nanostructured coatings and biocompatible materials. It consistently ranks among the top three departments at MISIS University.
The Department offers basic and specialized higher education programs, including master’s programs taught in English. Courses are taught by leading internationally recognized researchers.
The Department’s research activities address both fundamental problems in materials science and practical challenges related to the development, characterization, and optimization of processes for producing new materials through powder metallurgy methods and functional film and coating deposition processes.
Students actively participate in research projects, grants, and commercial contracts, receiving appropriate compensation. They become co-authors of articles in leading scientific journals and recipients of Russian and international awards.
Our students participate in international academic mobility programs, and international students conduct research internships and complete their theses in the Department’s laboratories.
