The Department of Automated Control Systems (ACS) actively contributes to university life, training students across 7 different programs and engaging students and staff in research and applied projects.

We develop competencies for staff and students in cutting-edge computer science domains:

  • Models and methods for digital transformation of production systems — implementing digital technologies in manufacturing.

  • Industrial IoT — connecting machines, cloud computing, analytics, and personnel to enhance industrial process efficiency.

  • Data mining and machine learning — building the foundations of analytics and decision-making using modern technologies.

  • DevOps — organizing effective collaboration between specialists and workflows to ensure product quality.

  • DataOps — developing practices to improve quality, speed, collaboration, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in data analytics.

Students participate in national and international competitions, consistently demonstrating their knowledge and skills:

  • ICPC — International Collegiate Programming Contest.

  • IT-Planet — competitions promoting ICT solutions.

  • Huawei ICT Competition — competitions in ICT, Big Data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

  • WorldSkills Championships — cross-industry professional skills competitions.

By graduation, over 80% of students are employed in IT roles at major Russian and international companies, including the Department’s partner companies.

Our partners in the digital economy sector include: FinTech, MedTech, EdTech, E-commerce, and IT companies: Resolut LLC; PARMA Technologies Group; Sber; Moscow Department of Information Technologies.

From the industrial sector: mining and metallurgical companies, research institutes, and engineering centers: Tsifra LLC; VIST Robotics.

Over the past 5 years, staff and students have published over 100 research papers indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, received over 20 author’s certificates, and secured 4 research grants.
