A group of scientists from NUST MISIS, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the Medical Nanotechnology Company led by Dr. Alexander Majouga have started preclinical trials of Russia`s first technology for oncological therapy on the basis of iron oxide nanomedicines, combining the capabilities of hyperthermia and chemical therapy.
For the first time, NUST MISIS has entered the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities by Subject for 2017. The University is listed in the group of “76-100” in the Metallurgical Engineering subject. Only five Russian universities managed to enter the top-100 of Shanghai`s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for 2017.
NUST MISIS plans to launch a laboratory to implement projects for collaborations on LHCb and SHiP experiments. Its employees will work on the implementation of four major projects — two of them through LHCb collaboration and the other two through SHiP collaboration. The department will be led by CERN project managers.
The Center for Infrastructure Collaboration & Partnership MegaScience was created at NUST MISIS. Professor Andrei Golutvin from the Department of High Energy Physics at the Imperial College in London, and a key participant of the monumental SHiP experiment at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland), will lead the center.
NUST MISIS actively participated at this year’s NAFSA International Annual Conference & Expo, held in Los Angeles (USA) and organized by the world`s largest nonprofit, the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs. NUST MISIS has participated at NAFSA since 2015 as a part of a single large-scale stand for Project 5-100, which represents a collection of Russian universities.
