Pierre Helg, Ambassador of Switzerland, Visits NUST MISIS

On October 10th, 2016, Pierre Helg, the Swiss Ambassador to the Russian Federation, visited NUST MISIS. During the meeting the university`s management and Mr. Helg discussed ways of cooperation in the fields of science and education.

NUST MISIS is seeking to implement joint programs for academics and science with the world’s leading universities, and as of today NUST MISIS has already signed more than 300 existing contracts with educational institutions around the world. One of the steps to achieve this was the meeting of university management with the delegation from the Swiss Embassy here in Russia, which is a group led by Ambassador Pierre Helg. The meeting was devoted to the prospects of cooperation.

NUST MISIS fruitfully cooperates with colleagues from Switzerland; the university is engaged in an ambitious project with CERN (the European Council for Nuclear Research), the world`s largest particle physics laboratory. A group of 27 young scientists from NUST MISIS visited the CERN laboratories earlier this year. Cooperation with universities in Switzerland through academic exchange, the realization of joint academic programs, or mutual internships might be the next step in the development of the relationship.

Having familiarized himself with some of the science programs at NUST MISIS, Mr. Helg noted that Switzerland is interested in working with NUST MISIS, one of Russia`s leading technological universities. He also added that the Swiss Embassy in Moscow will endeavor to nurture local relationships in the fields of science and education
