Industrial Design and Engineering

NUST MISIS and the National Center of Design and Innovations 2050.LAB present a joint Master’s program training professionals to use scientific, creative and engineering design methods in the field of industrial design and engineering. Industrial design is the key component in product manufacturing, being the innovation driver and the foundation of economic stability. Development of industrial design and engineering and the inflow of new experts in this branch will help to raise industry cost-efficiency and advance the digital development. This program targets those who wish to receive or upgrade their skills in industrial design and manage projects at various production sites of any industrial background. Our graduate employment focuses on the objective world, living environment, information and visual spaces and the related systems, phenomena and processes including those in science and engineering.

Sergey Helmyanov

Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Industrial Design, St. Stieglitz

A graduate of the St. Stieglitz. In 2005-2007, he headed the international student creative program of the NOKIA company and the Design faculty of St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts (in collaboration with NOKIA Design Director Eero Miettinen). His portfolio includes more than 100 projects in various areas of design. Together with Professor Svetlana Mirzoyan, he is the author of the book “The Fly. St. Petersburg School of Design”.

More than 15 years of experience in industrial design. Graduate of the Moscow University MSI. More than 30 projects in portfolio. Among the key works: the interior of the “Aurus”, the irradiator recirculator “Dezar”, the UAV bus “Matryoshka”.

Ph.D., associate professor

Graduate of the Moscow Automotive Institute. SKF Technical Trainer. Author of 30 scientific works, holder of 1 copyright certificate for invention. Author of a training course and basic Lean training for Boeing Design Center employees. Specialist in the development of programs and conduction of training sessions for the courses “Machine parts and design fundamentals”, “Technologies for strengthening machine parts”, “Fundamentals of product design”, “Computer modeling in CATIA V5 and INVENTOR programs”.

Gulnaz Faizovna Gainetdinova

Designer of the shoe production department, design and innovation group of the Sportmaster company. Until 2021 — designer of finishing materials 2050.LAB. She took part in landmark projects in the automotive industry, in particular, in the creation of a new generation of LADA cars for PJSC Avtovaz.

Industrial partner: National Center for Industrial Design and Innovation 2050.LAB is a new generation industrial design center whose goal is to produce objects that meet the needs of a modern person, form new approaches to work processes and create a professional design community.

Technology Partner: Dassault Systemes is a company that combines scientific research, advanced technology and art to create a reliable social community. The company has a single research center and 64 laboratories. Since 1981, Dassault Systemes has digitized industries globally with four breakthroughs in systems engineering.

Strategic partner: the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow includes five sites with a total area of ​​more than 200 hectares — in Pechatniki, Alabushevo, Mikron, Angstrem and MIET. The SEZ has greenfield and brownfield territories. More than 180 high-tech companies are localized in the SEZ, 85 of them are residents. In total, more than 13 thousand jobs have been created.

Industrial Internet of Things and Predictive Analytics

Internet of Things is a dynamically developing technology featuring high investment attractiveness and being fundamental for many professions of the future in power industry, retail, health care, transport, construction, etc. This comprehensive Master’s program provides training in a number of areas, such as in-built systems, data analysis and software engineering. It was developed by two departments — Automated Control Systems and Theoretical Physics and Quantum Mechanics. Its graduates are capable to analyze and design systems of various functional application based on the Internet of Things.

BIM-Technologies in Design and Construction

This program focuses on new technologies in information simulation and efficient BIM-solutions used in urban construction and industry. Additionally, students acquire competencies necessary for the successful future professional and R&D activities in simulation and business process analysis, programming, data processing, and R&D development and methods. Our graduates become high-wage BIM-managers, coordinators, or designers, as well as IT experts in BIM environment. Another option is to become a post-graduate student focusing on brilliant future carrier in science.

Data Science

This major is based on both fundamental disciplines that help students reveal data analysis principles and algorithms, and applied courses that allow practical use of the acquired knowledge. The program design accounts for the requirements of leading global IT-companies and NUST MISIS high academic standards.
