Modern computer technologies play a very important role in art. With the help of various software and hardware, artists can create new amazing works that would not have been possible before. The Art&Technology master’s program combines the best practices of the Art&Science and programming tracks. Students work with neural networks, visual programming languages, VR and AR, robotics, sound and lighting environments to create unique and technologically advanced pieces of art.

Yanina Prudenko

Candidate of Physical Sciences, Associate Professor of Cultural Studies

Curator of the Open Archive of Ukrainian Media Art, lecturer at the Rodchenko Art School, winner of the Innovation-2021 award, eco-activist, co-author of the Art Footprint Manifesto and co-organizer of the Art Footprint Conference. Author of the books “Cybernetics in Humanities and Arts in the USSR. Big Data Analysis and Computer Art” (Publishing Program of the Museum of Modern Art “Garage” and “Ukrainian Light-Music”).

Ildar Yakubov

Media artist and curator

A graduate of the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia and the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design. Worked at MIT Media Lab and the University of New Mexico. Conducted workshops at UNM, Bronx Academy for Software Engineering and University of Nevada, Reno. Participant in a large number of Russian and international exhibitions and festivals.

Vadim Epstein

Media artist, theorist and practitioner, leading Russian VJ

Has been working in the field of art since 1996. Collaborated with major brands, curated festivals and exhibitions. Exhibited in Montreal, Vancouver, Stuttgart, Paris, Glasgow, and others. Founder and creative director of the studio in[visible].

Ellina Halapana

Artist, developer, curator, professor

Winner of the GARAGE museum hackathon. Participant of exhibitions in Multimedia Art Museum, HPP-2, SMENA, New Wing of Gogol’s House, Electromuseum supported by Ars Electronica Festival, Digital Art Biennale and others.

Evgeniy Sergeyevich Lukuta

Interdisciplinary artist, designer, senior lecturer at the Department of Computer Aided Design

Master’s degree in Digital Art from FEFU, graduate of VSCA in curating in digital space, author of video installations in theaters, participant of exhibitions, media festivals and virtual residencies. Winner of “Pixels Fest”, winner of re:Store digital art in the Unlock AR+ PRO category.

Ippolit Markelov

Artist, PhD in Biological Sciences

Founder of Science Art group “18 apples” and participant of Posthuman Studies Lab. Exhibited in Russia and abroad: Ars Electronica (Austria), SymbioticA (Australia), GOSH (China), Ural Industrial Biennale, Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Kira Weinstein

Composer, sound designer, sound engineer, lyrics writer, musician, media artist, journalist

Creator of sound design for performances, author of many podcasts. Participant of the art project “Planned Accidents”, the first international biennale “Art of the Future” at MAMM. Creator of the musical group Kira Lao.

Andrei Smirnov

Researcher at the Moscow Conservatory Centre for Electroacoustic Music, head of the Sound Laboratory and professor at the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia, founder of the Termen Center.

Student opportunities and employment

As part of the program, students participate in organizing in-session exhibitions, public lectures and discussions, hackathons and master classes. Graduates find themselves in different creative and business fields and become heads of R&D departments, designers of interactive exhibition spaces, media curators and producers or architects of virtual spaces.

Applied Informatics in Digital Economy

This program trains high qualified professionals capable to outline and efficiently solve applied tasks based on ICT application; design architecture and services; implement the digital transformation of processes and systems by means of innovation tools. The curriculum includes student employment at enterprises and IT-companies at a variety of well-paid positions such as business process re-engineering consultant, IT-architect, IT-project manager, IT-infrastructure management consultant, business analyst, integration manager, IT-department manager. The competencies our graduates acquire during the program help them transform the operation of any scale enterprise accounting for high demands of the rapidly developing digital economy.
