NUST MISIS and Lobaev Arms, Russia`s first private company for the production of arms, are announcing the creation of a joint master`s degree program aimed at training specialists to organize high-tech business in Russia and abroad.
The unique experience of Lobaev Arms’ managers in organizing high-tech business in Russia and abroad will be used to train specialists in a master`s degree program called “Corporate and industry innovation based on interdisciplinary analysis and synthesis”.
The training will be held in two parts. The first part is training in “Technological machines and equipment”, which will allow the students to obtain all the necessary knowledge for the design, creation, assembly, and maintenance of the most modern machinery, machine tool stations, and equipment—including high-complexity equipment with pre-programmed control systems.
The second part will be based on mastering the skills necessary to open high-tech business — from business plan development to research of legal aspects and cooperation with investors. Experienced experts from Lobaev Arms will be fully involved in the development of the program.
“NUST MISIS together with leading Russian universities and business companies are implementing the ‘Graduate programs with partners’ project. Jointly with Lobaev Arms and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, we are now launching Russia`s first interuniversity master`s degree program in the organization of high-tech business. The program’s students will have the opportunity to obtain two diplomas from [two of] Russia`s leading universities”, said Vadim Petrov, Vice-Rector of Educational Affairs at NUST MISIS.
During their studies students will undergo training and internships at high-tech enterprises, will engage in real technological processes, and will have the chance to solve real production problems. During their 2nd year of studies students will be given a job placement opportunity in a specialized company. The five best students will be hired by Lobaev Arms.
The program’s first enrollment is planned for 2018. Studies will take place on a budgetary basis. Pre-master`s degree courses that will help to not only prepare students for the exams, but to get a better understanding of the specialization, as well as to evaluate the high-level of a NUST MISIS education, are being offered to those who plan to apply for the program. The courses will be especially useful to bachelor degree graduates of various fields.
