NUST MISIS and Severstal Sign Cooperation Agreement

NUST MISIS and PAO Severstal, one of world`s major vertically-integrated steel and mining companies, have signed a cooperation agreement to implement joint projects and create the Green Metallurgy Center.

The document was signed by Sergey Nikonov, Head of the Technology Department for Technical Development & Quality at PAO Severstal, and Mikhail Filonov, the NUST MISIS Vice-Rector of Research & Development.

“Our company focuses on innovations, technological development, and mastering production of new types of products, and that is why we are constantly looking for effective ideas and tools. The cooperation between Severstal and NUST MISIS as part of this agreement is a completely new format of collaboration between metallurgical enterprises and Russia`s research & educational centers. We believe that it will not only qualitatively work through existing proposals but also effectively generate innovative ideas”, commented Pyotr Minshev, Director of Technical Development & Quality at the “Severstal Russian Steel” division.

Despite the official agreement, Severstal and NUST MISIS have been cooperating in the field of research and development for a very long time, setting a precedence of great things to come.
