NUST MISIS Enters TOP-100 of ARWU Ranking in Two Categories

For the second year in a row, NUST MISIS has been ranked in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (ARWU). According to ARWU-2018, NUST MISIS is in the TOP-100 in two categories: Metallurgical Engineering and Mining & Mineral Engineering. For Mining, the university was in the 76-100 group. With this year’s rankings, NUST MISIS is now one of six Russian universities included in the TOP-100 of the ARWU subject rankings.

NUST MISIS is in the TOP-100 for Metallurgical Engineering for the second straight year. In ARWU-2018, the University appears in three categories: Mining & Mineral Engineering (76-100), Materials Science, and Engineering (301+).

According to Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS, “The results [we’ve achieved] are due to the University`s successful research activities aimed at creating new laboratories and attracting leading Russian and international scientists, and the growth of our publication activity and citation rate [is the result of this]”.

In 2018, 17 Russian universities, including 11 participants of the 5-100 Project, took part in the Shanghai ranking. NUST MISIS is one of three universities ranked in the TOP-100 in two categories.
