NUST MISIS improves its position in Times Higher Education rankings by subject

The ranking agency Times Higher Education has published a list of the best universities in the world across various subject areas. In 2025, NUST MISIS entered the list of leading universities in computer science for the first time. It ranked in the top 28% of universities worldwide in physical sciences and the top 41% in engineering. The ranking was based on five criteria: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.

NUST MISIS has risen to the top 28% of leading universities worldwide in physical sciences, securing a position in the “301–400” interval group, and moved up to the “6–10” group among 56 Russian universities. The “Industry” indicator increased by 13.26%, while moderate growth was observed in the consolidated indicators of “Research Environment” and “Teaching”.

In engineering sciences, NUST MISIS is ranked in the top 41% among 1,488 universities worldwide, falling within the interval group of “501–600”, and among 59 universities in Russia, it is in the group of “8–10”. The indicator for “Industry” has increased by 7.66%, while the “Research Environment” has grown by 4.07%.

Among universities worldwide in computer science, NUST MISIS is placed in the “1001+” interval group (with a total of 1,122 universities represented in the ranking).
