A Vietnamese delegation led by Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, paid an official visit to MISIS University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of cooperation between NUST MISIS and Vietnamese universities in the field of science and education. The guests highly appreciated the work of the university’s researchers after touring the Laboratory of Superconductor Quantum Technologies and the Engineering Center of High-Complexity Prototyping “Kinetica”.
As part of the visit, Mr. Le Minh Hoan met with Vietnamese students studying at NUST MISIS. He identified education, human resource development, science, and technology as strategic areas of cooperation and expressed a strong interest in intensifying joint research efforts — particularly in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced and quantum technologies — to promote sustainable development in both countries.
Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Deputy Head of Vietnam’s Parliament, stated: “Vietnam pursues a policy of expanding educational ties with countries that have well-developed academic systems, and Russia holds a special place in this regard. Joint work in the field of science is one of the priorities of the intergovernmental agreements signed following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam. I have been to Russia before, but today at NUST MISIS, I truly felt the atmosphere of scientific creativity and saw the vital role science plays in Russian society.”
NUST MISIS Vice-Rector for Education Andrey Voronin emphasized the university’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Vietnamese educational and academic institutions. He announced plans to implement joint professional development courses and academic exchange programs and affirmed the university’s readiness to create a supportive environment for Vietnamese students, contributing to their academic success and the national development of the Socialist Republic.
In response, Mr. Le Minh Hoan expressed his willingness to foster cooperation not only between educational institutions but also between the Russian side and Vietnamese private enterprises.
It is worth noting that in September 2024, NUST MISIS was also visited by another prominent Vietnamese alumnus — Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam — during his official trip.
