NUST MISIS has entered the TOP-22 Russian universities focused on the teaching of international students. The index was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo through the support of the Social Navigator Project (RIA Novosti — Russian International News Agency) and Sputnik International.
The listing for “The Best Russian Universities for Education and Cooperation” was made through the interactive navigator`s project “The Best Russian Universities: Choose Yours”, which is focused on international students. 207 Russian universities, which educate the largest number of international students, have been entered into the index.
According to Dmitry Guzhelya, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for CIS issues, living abroad compatriots, and international humanitarian cooperation, “NUST MISIS has entered the index of ‘The Best Russian Universities for Education and Cooperation’ because it fully complies with all the parameters that are key for us. NUST MISIS has modern infrastructure, its dormitories have been voted the best in both Moscow and Russia numerous times, and we also see the active work of the welcome service oriented on the admission and consultation of international students. Moreover, the university has a respected and modern website with relevant pages on social media in English”.
“NUST MISIS pays strong attention to the attraction of international students and the creation of living conditions. The comfortable environment we have is created thanks to the active work of professors, lecturers, and university staff, as well as through the help of the International Friendship Club`s volunteers, whom I would like to express my personal gratitude. As a result of all this work, in 2016 in the QS World University Ranking, NUST MISIS jumped to 223rd position for the International student ratio indicator, up from 317th in 2015”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.
The admission for NUST MISIS international master`s degree programs is ongoing, but we have already seen the number of applicants in 2016 far exceed last year`s, increasing the number of applicants and set of documents for English-taught programs by 400%. The competition for every available student spot is up to 8 applicants, which is double last year`s amount.
If we consider the training of international students in Russian, then according to the results of the 2016 admission campaign, the ratio of citizens from other nations amounted to almost a third (29.12%) of all incoming students.
