The National Platform for Open Education to be launched at EdCrunch

Educators, entrepreneurs, venture investors, education officials and other interested parties will discuss the Mass Open Online Courses (MOOC) and gamification, adaptive and blended learning, work with big data level, achievements and researches in the field of digital pedagogy.

NUST MISIS, IKRa School (Interactive Communications in Advertising) and Digital October are the organizers of the Europe`s most prominent conference in the fields of educational technologies, teaching methods, application of ICT in teaching and complementary education.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dvorkovich A.V., the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Livanov D.V., the creators of Global Education Platforms Daphne Koller (Coursera), Anant Agarwal (edX), Hans Klepper (Iversity) and other world leading experts in the field of EdTech will take part in the conference.

“The culmination of the conference will be the presentation of the National Online Education Platform. It`s goal is to make a full analogue of university`s curricula which will allow to get knowledge of the same level and quality as during academic education. It implies high requirements to the developing programs and their effectiveness. Students will have an opportunity to successfully complete the basic education programs staying at home”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.

EdCrunch will hold over 90 Russian and international leading experts in the fields of educational technologies and innovative pedagogy. More than 15 innovative startups will be presented at the Startup Alley. Over 1500 conferee and 5000 online participants are expected at the conference which will be compered both in Russian and English.

The program of the conference includes the discussion of the problems in the 5 following sections: “School”, “Higher Education”, “Professional and Complementary Education”, “Experimental Methodology”, “Design & Architecture”. The results of an open IT-marathon Edhackout in the field of Education Platform development will be presented. The participants will present the creative concepts for the National Open Education Platform. The best concepts will be implemented within the project.

In spite of the thematic sections and panel discussions the great number of workshops will be held at the conference. The leading international companies` representatives (Apple, Samsung, Intel) will join EdCrunch. The educational project MinecraftEdu based on the video games will be presented in Russia for the first time.
