Joint training, internships and career enhancement programs with Metalloinvest enterprises, as well as laboratory and scientific research into steel and iron will all contribute to training high-level mining and metallurgical specialists receive at the new branch.

“Today, more than 400 students from Uzbekistan study at NUST MISIS in mining and metallurgical specializations, and many of them [are post-graduate students]. 15 of these post-graduate students, under the guidance of the University`s leading scientists, are now preparing for their thesis defense. In the 2018-19 academic year, 150 students will be studying at the Almalyk branch, and our task is to provide them with every opportunity that NUST MISIS has in the fields of science and education”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.

The educational process will follow the curriculum and programs approved by NUST MISIS, while accounting for Uzbekistan’s educational standard requirements. The educational process will involve not only specialists from Uzbekistan but also highly-skilled teaching personnel from Russia with a multitude of teaching experience in leading Russian and international universities.

The main tasks facing the NUST MISIS branch in Uzbekistan are the training of qualified personnel for the actively developing industries in Uzbekistan and the creation of research centers and laboratories for fundamental and applied research in the fields of metallurgy and mining in accordance with the requests of key business partners.
