On November 24th, 2017, representatives of 80 Moscow universities announced the creation of Moscow`s first student committee on the quality of education as part of an agreement signed between the All-Russian public organization “For quality education” and the youth regional public movement “Moscow students”. The committee will be led by Gleb Uzunov, chairman of the NUST MISIS Student Council.
The Moscow student committee on the quality of education will create committees at each university where together students, university management, representatives from the business community, and government authorities will work to tackle educational issues and improve its overall quality.
Boris Chernyshov, the Deputy of the State Duma Committee of Education and Science, supported the initiative by noting that students are essential participants in the educational process, and without their feedback it’s impossible to objectively assess the quality of education.
The results of these university student committees will be included in the 2018 Moscow student council ranking. The most successful ideas to come from this initiative will be replicated throughout the country.
The decision to create the committee was made at Moscow`s first student forum on the quality of education, an event organized by NUST MISIS together with the All-Russian public organization “For quality education” and the youth regional public movement “Moscow students”. The committee was made possible through the support of the Expert Council on the Development of Civic Education & the Socialization of Students under the State Duma Committee of Education and Science, as well as through representatives of the interregional public employment organization “The Association of Russia’s Managers”.
