NUST MISIS and the National Technology Initiative University (University of NTI) “20.35” are the co-organizers of #EdCrunch-2018, Europe`s largest international conference on new educational technologies, which will be held at the Moscow World Trade Center on October 1st and 2nd, 2018. #EdCrunch-2018 will attract over 5,000 participants and more than 20,000 online participants, and will host 15 subject areas, over 300 Russian and international speakers, and 50 Edtech companies. The Conference’s organization has been a part of the implementation of the “Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation” priority project.
The 5th annual International Conference in the Field of New Educational Technologies, #EdCrunch-2018, will be held in Moscow. The main topic is “Data That Transform”, and the conference will be devoted to modern research and practical solutions in the field of big data in education. Every angle of the issue will be discussed, from methods of collecting and analyzing educational statistics to the use of blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence in the educational process.
“Today, with the help of digital technologies it is possible to rebuild any industry. This also applies to the education system, where management decisions can be made based on big data, and educational trajectories of students can be built individually with the help of algorithms and artificial intelligence mentors. Our aim is to learn how to do this. The #EdCrunch conference will attract the world`s leading experts and will become an important platform to discuss these and other modern educational technologies, as well as an excellent opportunity to learn from the best representatives of the field”, said Dmitry Peskov, special representative of the Russian President on issues of digital and technological development.
“A wide and modern tool for assessing methods and learning outcomes is necessary to improve the quality of education. Existing technologies allow us to automate the process of big data collection and analysis. Active work on the creation of [modern] tools is currently being carried out both in Russia and abroad. The research results in this area and the most advanced technologies and successful practices will be presented at #Edcrunch2018”, — said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.
In 2018, the National Technology Initiative University 20.35 — Russia`s first university professionally developing people for the digital economy — has joined the #EdCrunch team of organizers.
“Today, everyone has unlimited opportunities, but also the need for constant self-development. Helping people make decisions about [their future] and ways to learn new skills is a key tenet of University 20.35, [something] that can only be solved through the constant summarizing and analysis of the experience of thousands of people’s training. We are creating a platform which will accompany someone’s development throughout their life, and can keep a digital profile of their achievements, look for new opportunities for them, recommend new activities, and increase their confidence in the professional environment”, said Vasily Tretiakov, General Director of University 20.35.
