Physics and Chemistry of Processes and Materials

Here, you’ll find an optimal blend of foundational training rooted in the best traditions of the NUST MISIS scientific school and innovative educational technologies. In full-time learning, you’ll work on real projects with industrial partners (Severstal and others). This hands-on approach enables our students to win national and international competitions and grant programs each year!

In the Physics and Chemistry of Processes and Materials track, you’ll not only receive classical engineering education but also learn to apply advanced materials creation technologies in practice. Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped to solve scientific and technical tasks across materials science and build a successful career in scientific and production organizations.

Physical Materials Science of Functional Materials

Looking to create magnetic nanomaterials for biomedicine, electric transport, and green energy? Want to contribute to battling cancer or mitigating global warming?

For over 70 years, we’ve trained skilled specialists in materials with unique magnetic properties and conducted advanced research in magnetic materials. You’ll have access to cutting-edge research equipment, including the Permanent Magnet Lab and the Biomedical Nanomaterials Lab.

As a bachelor’s student, you’ll learn both magnet materials science and material production skills, including nanomaterials. Your graduation project will be an individual scientific study conducted within a real-world project in collaboration with our partners.

Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals

Did you know that 90% of structural materials used in industry are metallic? Want to become a specialist in metallurgy and learn to develop innovative materials and smart instruments? Build a career in any field that demands high-strength materials — from medicine to nuclear energy!

The Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals track is distinguished by its focus on high-strength and damage-resistant materials. It also integrates big data technologies, digitalization, and automation.

With over 100 years of expertise, our team has registered 27 patents and continues working with students on new innovations. You’ll use cutting-edge equipment in the Hybrid Nanostructured Materials Lab and the interdepartmental Nanomaterials research facility. During your studies, you’ll contribute to scientific grants and corporate projects from industrial partners like Rosatom, Gazprom, and Russian Railways.

Innovative Materials for Nanoelectronics

In this track, you’ll explore technologies for developing new materials and their application in nanoelectronics. Work in laboratories and research centers at MISIS University under leading scientists on projects commissioned by industry. The Innovative Materials for Nanoelectronics track combines materials science and nanoelectronics. The Department of Materials Science of Semiconductors and Dielectrics is the first and only scientific school in Russia in this field. It consistently leads the department rankings at NUST MISIS, registering 1-5 patents annually, with 5% of students winning national contests and grants each year.

As a full-time student, you’ll gain a solid foundation that opens opportunities to continue your studies or begin working immediately — 100% of our graduates find employment in their field. You’ll find roles in high-tech manufacturing and leading research centers.

Physicochemical Research of Processes and Materials

The Physicochemical Research of Processes and Materials track provides opportunities to master advanced methods for researching and developing materials with unique functional properties. In full-time education, students tackle complex tasks in analyzing physicochemical processes, material quality control, and designing technological processes. Upon graduation, they become highly skilled professionals capable of managing projects, conducting scientific research, and implementing innovative materials science solutions.

Materials Science of Functional Materials in Nanoelectronics

This track opens opportunities for students to master modern technologies aimed at developing and researching materials used in nanoelectronic devices. During studies, students will work on challenges related to creation, analysis, and quality control of materials used in electronics and related industries. Upon completion, graduates will become highly qualified experts competent in project management, scientific research, and design in materials science and nanoelectronics.

Duration of the program: 6 years. Full-time education in Russian.
