Dormitory Regulations

MISIS University dormitories provide a comfortable and safe environment for living and studying. To ensure this, all residents are expected to follow a few essential rules:

  • Comply with internal regulations and fire safety requirements;
  • Keep rooms and shared areas clean and tidy;
  • Save electricity and switch off lights when leaving your room;
  • Take care of dormitory property and surrounding areas;
  • Use electrical appliances and equipment in accordance with instructions.

Access Control and Visitor Policy

All residents of the student campus are issued electronic access cards. To obtain one, please contact the pass office in your dormitory. You will need your university access card, which is issued by the Student Office upon enrollment.

Temporary accommodation for close relatives and guests is possible upon request, subject to availability. A written application must be submitted to the dormitory administration.

MISIS University students who do not live in the dormitory must leave their access card or student ID with security during their visit. Visitors who are not NUST MISIS students must request a temporary pass in advance through the dormitory administration.

Guests are allowed in the dormitories from 17:00 to 23:00.

For Safety Reasons, the Following Is Prohibited

  • Allowing unauthorized persons to stay overnight or providing them with room keys;
  • Moving to another room without official approval;
  • Being absent from the dormitory for more than 20 days without prior written notice;
  • Installing additional locks on doors;
  • Using electrical heating devices (including immersion heaters, electric kettles, irons, hot plates, heaters, etc.) that lack thermal protection, are used without proper non-combustible stands, or are not permitted under dormitory equipment standards;
  • Blocking evacuation routes or cluttering rooms and corridors with excessive belongings (e.g., luggage);
  • Organizing events without prior approval from the dormitory student council and campus administration;
  • Making noise between 22:00 and 07:00;
  • Bringing, storing, or consuming alcoholic or low-alcohol beverages;
  • Being in the dormitory under the influence of alcohol or drugs, using or distributing drugs;
  • Smoking;
  • Bringing or storing any type of firearms, traumatic, pneumatic, or bladed weapons, as well as flammable, explosive, or hazardous chemicals;
  • Engaging in illegal activities under the laws of the Russian Federation.

Violations of dormitory regulations may result in disciplinary action depending on the severity of the offense, including: warning, reprimand, eviction from the dormitory, or expulsion from the university.
