NUST MISIS and UESTC to launch joint master’s program in Advanced Materials Science

The College of Technologies of NUST MISIS has signed a cooperation agreement with the School of Materials and Energy at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). The two universities plan to strengthen their partnership, establish a joint laboratory or research center, and launch a master’s program in Advanced Materials Science.

The NUST MISIS delegation included Director of the College of Technologies Andrey Travyanov, Head of International Education Olga Kim, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department Yuri Rishko, and Lead Specialist for International Student Affairs Zara Gevorkyan. During the visit, the delegation also took part in the Study Abroad Fair, an international education exhibition, where they presented NUST MISIS to Chinese students among 23 participating foreign universities.

UESTC is one of China’s leading research universities specializing in electronics, IT, and engineering. It is designated as a Double First-Class University and ranks among the country’s national priority institutions. UESTC has over 44,000 students, around 800 professors, and 11 national key laboratories.

Earlier, the universities had signed a memorandum of understanding, under which student exchanges are carried out through summer and winter schools. In the summer of 2025, 24 MISIS students completed a study program at UESTC.
