On May 17th, 2016, NUST MISIS hosted a meeting with representatives from such leading Australian universities as La Trobe University, University of Melbourne, Monash University, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University). The Australian delegation was led by Damian Spencer, representative of the Government of the Victoria state.
Currently, Australian universities occupy lead positions in the fields of medical investigation, ecology and power engineering, biotechnology, and IT. Scientists and Government delegates representing the oldest Australian universities presented their universities’ main directions of research and educational activities.
After discussing the prospects of cooperation and visiting the leading research laboratories and engineering centers here at NUST MISIS, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding and outlined the main directions of future joint research activities: materials science and biomedicine.
In addition, the parties agreed that in the near future the Australian party will present specific proposals for the field of research. The joint projects will commence this September. Another, but separate direction of cooperation will be the development of bilateral educational programs, in which the represented Australian universities will provide
