NAFSA: The Association of International Educators is the world’s largest association, and the annual Conference & Expo gathers representatives from universities and educational institutions from across the United States and around the world to focus on internationalization and new prospects in the field of education.
The NUST MISIS delegation is seeking to spread the word about the university as one of the leading technological institutions in Russia, in addition to finding new partners among the leading western educational institutions for long-standing and comprehensive collaborations in the fields of science and education.
The NUST MISIS representatives are participating extensively in the Conference, the topic of which for 2016 is “Building Capacity for Global Learning”. The Conference is focusing on the exchange of experience, training, and gaining knowledge from leading international experts on the significance of promoting higher education within the global scientific and educational community.
The launch of the NAFSA Film Festival is one of the essential elements of this year’s Conference. The festival’s overall aim is to bolster and promote international filmmaking. In partnership with the New York Film Academy (NYFA) College of Visual & Performing Arts and the University of Colorado Denver, College of Arts and Media, NAFSA will screen multiple films that cover a wide range of themes. Audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy feature-length and short films, including animation, created by award-winning international filmmakers from around the world.
“NAFSA is not only an excellent opportunity to meet and network with new and old colleagues in the field of international education and to begin the process of setting up mutually beneficial collaborations, it is also a great chance to listen to leading professionals from around the globe share their expertise on a variety of pertinent hot topics in the field of international education”, says Timothy L. Schmidt, Advisor to the NUST MISIS Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
Today, NUST MISIS partners with more than 100 educational institutions from nearly every corner of the globe, and that number is progressively increasing. NUST MISIS operates nine master`s programs in English, and more than 1700 international students from 66 counties study at the university.
In 2016 NUST MISIS will be participating in one more international educational event: the 28th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition (Liverpool, UK).
