Representatives from 18 Latin American countries and Spain visited NUST MISIS during their short-term study tours in Russia as part of the “New Generation” program launched by Rossotrudnichestvo.
The delegation members—experts in the fields of science, education, politics, and economics—discussed the prospect of cooperation in the fields of science and technology, and got acquainted with NUST MISIS`s unique Center for Industrial Prototyping of High Complexity.
NUST MISIS and Latin American universities have long-standing collaborations, which have recently reached a new level. In January 2016, a research and education center at NUST MISIS was founded for the development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries. The new center’s main purposes are the development of the mining industry as well as NUST MISIS’s other areas of specialization. The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the NC SESLA.
In May 2016, the first Russian-Latin American Student Forum was held at NUST MISIS. The opening of the Latin American Student Cultural Club occurred during the forum.
