NUST MISIS Scientists Participate in the Development of “The Encyclopedia of Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis”

The Elsevier publishing house published a fundamental work which brings together all the latest knowledge about one of the most promising technologies of the 21st century — “The Encyclopedia of Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis”.

Leading experts in the field of SHS from 20 countries are credited as authors of the encyclopedia, while the editors are the founders of the technology—including Professor Evgeny Levashov, the Director of the Scientific-Educational Center of SHS at NUST MISIS, and Professor Alexander Mukasyan, the Director of NUST MISIS’s Center of Functional Nano-Ceramics.

The encyclopedia covers 169 key topics in the field of SHS, including descriptions of the latest discoveries and developments. It also covers all the aspects of SHS behavior — in chemical, physical, structural, and materials science, as well as providing an overview of many aspects of the constructive use of the phenomenon of combustion occurring while creating advanced materials. According to the authors and publishers, the book will become a key guidebook in the field of SHS.
