NUST MISIS Receives Right to Independently Award Academic Degrees

Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, has signed an agreement which grants NUST MISIS and 18 other Russian universities as well as 4 scientific research institutions the right to independently award academic degrees. On August 25th, 2017, the relevant document was published on the government’s website.

As stated on the Russian government’s website, on the list of entities with this unique ability, 11 are classified under the status of “national research institution”, 3 universities hold a status of “federal university”, and 4 universities are classified as having the right to independently develop and establish educational standards.

Starting September 1st, 2017, these institutions will have the right to award academic degrees.
