According to QS BRICS-2018 results, NUST MISIS has moved up 26 spots in the ranking, while also performing best among the university-participants of Project
In the QS BRICS-2018 Ranking, NUST MISIS has strengthened and validated its results in almost every indicator, including Employer Reputation, one of the main indicators.
“NUST MISIS has significantly strengthened its positions in the new ranking by entering the top-100 in the Employer Reputation indicator and taking 62nd place among the best universities in the region (in 2016, we were in the group of 101+). The strengthening of cooperation with the business-community is one of the key areas of NUST MISIS’s development, which is conducted in all areas of our activity: research studies, innovation implementation, the development of educational programs and the creation of social projects. We implement about 500 projects together with our business partners in the amount of 2.5 billion Rubles, and hold more than 100 joint career events and 9,000 unique internships annually. OMK, Metalloinvest, Karakan Invest, Nornickel, Alrosa, Evraz, EuroChem, Novolipetsk Steel and many other companies are among NUST MISIS’s partners. Thanks to consistent work with our partners, the University regularly improves its positions in world-leading academic rankings in the ‘interaction with business’ indicator”, Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS, said.
1,487 Russian and world enterprises are among the University`s partners. The professional navigation program developed and conducted together with the business community includes a case championships, a series of lectures and master-classes, a meeting with representatives of various corporations, as well as dozens of other events. These actions allow the university to help find work for up to 98% of NUST MISIS graduates.
Also, NUST MISIS has advanced in the International Students indicator, taking 4th place (in 2016 — the 7th) among universities in BRICS countries and 3rd place among Russian universities. The University`s consistent work on the attraction of international students and the establishment of comfortable conditions for their life and studies has facilitated growth in the rankings. Currently, the percentage of international students at NUST MISIS is 24%, representing 69 world countries. To develop academic mobility, the University has developed not only English language master`s degree programs, but also dual degree and exchange programs.
In addition, the University has strengthened its positions in the following indicators: Academic Reputation — it now is 108th among all BRICS universities, International Faculty — 76th, and Staff with PhD — 83rd.
In 2017, NUST MISIS has strengthened its positions in the QS World University Ranking, improving its positions from the group of 601st to the group of 501st. It also has improved its positions from 63rd to 57th in the QS Emerging Europe&Central Asia. And finally, for the first time, the University entered the rankings by subject, being featured in 4 subjects, and taking 31st place in the Engineering-Mineral & Mining subject.
