Spring is Here!

On March 21st, 2018, the celebration of the International Holiday Nowruz took place at the NUST MISIS Commune House. The event program included folk dances, folk songs, and national cuisine from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

Nowruz is the holiday of peace and spring, as well as the awakening of new life. Celebrated on the day of the Spring Equinox, it represents the rebirth of nature and the triumph of good over evil.

The evening’s program consisted of two parts: first, students from Russia, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan performed folk songs and dances. After the concert, participants treated each other to national dishes they had cooked themselves.

This was the second time Nowruz was celebrated at NUST MISIS, and so far, the tradition looks promising. The NUST MISIS Student Council and the International Friendship Club organized the event.
