Parliamentary Representatives of the South African Republican Visit NUST MISIS

On September 20th, 2018, NUST MISIS hosted a meeting with Parliamentary representatives from the Republic of South Africa’s Committee on Higher Education and Training. NUST MISIS is intriguing to South Africans as a training center to work in conditions of the modern digital economy.

The purpose of the delegation’s visit was to study Russia`s higher education system and to identify universities that will be able to provide training to South African national staff on the challenges facing the country`s economy. The South African representatives were very interested in training specialists in areas where NUST MISIS excels globally, including mining, materials science, ecology, ecotechnologies, theoretical physics, and bioengineering.

“We are pleased to know that NUST MISIS is already cooperating with several South African universities, for example the University of Johannesburg. It would be great to expand the horizons of our partnership to universities from more remote regions. Upon returning to South Africa, we will definitely tell our colleagues from the Ministry about NUST MISIS and our possibilities [working together]”, noted Mrs. September, head of the delegation and representative of the Parliamentary Committee on Higher Education and Training.

Currently, NUST MISIS cooperates with three universities in South Africa: the University of Johannesburg, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and the University of Pretoria in the fields of double-degree and student academic mobility programs.
